George and Cate Bennett are the husband and wife team behind Sandy Lane’s success and they are delighted to have got down to the final three in the ‘best organic farm over 10 hectares’ category.
Mrs Bennet said: "We are absolutely thrilled to be in the finals. As a family, we’ve been growing delicious, organic vegetables in harmony with nature for over 30 years now and it’s lovely to receive recognition for all the team’s hard work and dedication out in the fields."
A traditional mixed farm, Sandy Lane puts soil health and biodiversity at the heart of its farming methods and has its own farm shop as well as supplying a vegetable box delivery scheme called Ten Mile Menu, which operates in Oxfordshire and South Bucks.
Mr Bennett is the third generation of Bennetts to take on the farm and he grows a wide diversity of crops over his 100 acres.
The BOOM awards celebrate organic producers and farmers all across the country.
The winner will be announced on July 8.
