A BOY was slapped in the face by a man outside an Oxford takeaway.

The assault happened at around 7.45am on Wednesday, when the victim, a 12-year-old boy, was approached by an unknown man in Blackbird Leys Road outside Jake’s takeaway.

The man slapped the boy around the face causing him to fall to his knees. The boy's phone fell onto the floor and the man stamped on it causing damage.

The offender is believed to be in his late teens and of skinny to medium build. He was wearing an all black tracksuit and black balaclava.

Investigating officer PC Bethany Snowdon, based at Oxford, said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or if anyone saw the man matching the description in the area at the time or think they know who they are, to please get in touch.
