A MAN was punched and had his rucksack stolen by two men before chasing after them.

Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following the robbery in Didcot.

At around 7pm on Sunday , the victim, a man in his thirties, was walking along Sandringham Road when he heard a man shouting for his attention.

When he turned around to look he was assaulted by two men who punched him and stole his rucksack.

The victim chased the men before they got into a small dark coloured car and drove off in the direction of Jubilee Avenue.

The victim sustained minor injuries to his face but did not require any medical treatment.

One of the offenders is described as a tall black man in his thirties with long dreadlocks. He was wearing a grey sleeveless vest and grey tracksuit bottoms.

The other man is described as white with a tan, around five foot seven and in his thirties. He was wearing a navy baseball cap with the peak forwards, a dark coloured polo type t-shirt with a collar and dark blue jeans.

Investigating officer Detective Constable Daniel Tibble, based at Abingdon police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or if anyone saw the men matching the description in the area at the time or think they know who they are, to please get in touch.
