A YELLOW weather warning for thunderstorms has been issued for large parts of the country threatening to bring an end to the sunny spell.
For the past week, a heatwave has seen temperatures soar reaching 26 degrees in Oxford.
However, the MET Office has forecast thunderstorms and issued a yellow weather warning until Friday.
Rain is expected in Oxford on Thursday and Friday this week with temperatures plummeting to a low of 11 degrees.
