A private ambulance driver appeared in court accused of putting another motorist in hospital.

Danny Moss, 43, was driving the Renault Master Ambulance on Nosworthy Way, Wallingford, in January 2020 when he was said to have overtaken a number of vehicles, crashed into a bollard and ended up on the wrong-side of the road.

Oxford magistrates heard the private ambulance was then involved in a head-on collision with another car. The driver of the black Nissan Leaf allegedly suffered an open leg fracture, broken vertebrae and a broken arm and elbow.

Appearing before court this morning via video link from his home, Moss, of St Helens, near Liverpool, entered no plea to a single count of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

He was granted unconditional bail to appear before Oxford Crown Court on July 19.

Liz Tweed appeared for the Crown Prosecution Service. Nasir Hafezi represented Moss.
