The country’s biggest 80s music festival is back.

Rewind Festival South 2021 will go ahead in Henley on August 20 – 22 with Saturday’s main stage headlined by Jimmy Somerville’s Big Band-tastic Boogie and Wet Wet Wet making their festival debut on Sunday night.

Jimmy Somerville will play a hit-packed show with a big band with brass, strings and special effects, including the world’s biggest party popper, as well as special guest Sarah Jane Morris recreating their 1986 number one single Don’t Leave Me This Way.

Other artists performing include Marc Almond, Bananarama, Billy Ocean, Hue & Cry, The Christians, Cutting Crew, Go West and Katrina.

Oxford Mail:

Roland Gift, Limahl, Pete Wylie, Soul II Soul, Aswad, Nik Kershaw, Grandmaster Flash and John Parr will also be there.

The festival will open with a unique show celebrating over 50 years since the formation of one of the world’s greatest rock bands – Queen.

Queen Symphonic features a full symphony orchestra, a rock band and four soloists from the musical We Will Rock You performing some of the band’s greatest hits including We Will Rock You, Bohemian Rhapsody, Radio Ga Ga, We Are The Champions, A Kind Of Magic and many more.

New for 2021 is the launch of The Pink Flamingo Club in the Big Top, an 80s themed nightclub with DJs Pat Sharp, Gary Davies, Mark Goodier and Bruno Brooks spinning 80s tunes to keep the party going well into the night.

Each day will kick off with the legendary Uncle Funk and the Boogie Wonderband and Sunday night will conclude with a fantastic firework display.

As well as live performances there is other exciting entertainment such as Electro Picture Lounge, Silent Disco, funfair rides, kids’ zone with entertainment for the little Rewinders, shops and stalls for jewellery, T-shirts, food and drink.

Plus doing crowd workouts will be none other than keep fit guru himself, Mr. Motivator!

Meanwhile if “love is all around” and you fancy tying the knot you can do it Rewind-style in the Inflatable Church.

Organisers said: “Yes, the big church of rubbery love is once again rockin’ 80s vibes.”
