A teenage paedophile who photographed himself with a younger boy was told he ‘had a lot of growing up to do’.

The pictures taken by Oxfordshire man Daniel Peachey, 19, were found by police officers last December, just days after he was before a Bournemouth judge for having indecent images of children.

Yesterday, Oxford Crown Court heard the five images, which were taken in August 2020, showed Peachey and a boy of around 16. A police expert had categorised them as indecent images in category C.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC imposed a 12 month conditional discharge. He told the defendant: “I’m not going to lecture you about what you were up to that led you to appear at Bournemouth Crown Court but that order still remains and you will comply with that order and do what the probation service tell you to do.”

He added: “You’ve got a lot of growing up to do. You keep clear of indecent images and doing things – even online – with 16-year-old boys or it is only going to land you in more and more hot water.”

Peachey, of Stevens Lane, Henley-on-Thames, pleaded guilty at an earlier hearing to making indecent images of children.

Sending Peachey on his way, Judge Gledhill warned him: “Your card is marked. Any more of this nonsense and you will be going downstairs [to the cells].”

Last November, Peachey was given a five year sexual harm prevention order, told to register as a sex offender for five years and ordered to do 120 hours of unpaid work after he pleaded guilty at Bournemouth Crown Court to three counts of making indecent images of children.
