A TRANSIT driver crashed head-on into another vehicle after swerving across a Burford A-road.
Andrew Page, 57, was behind the wheel of the 64-plate Ford van on October 23 last year when he was seen swerving across the central white lines on the A361.
He mounted the grass verge, crossed the white lines and crashed head-on into another vehicle.
Appearing before Oxford Magistrates’ Court last month, Page, of The Paddock, Cirencester, pleaded guilty to dangerous driving. An offence of driving while using a mobile phone was withdrawn by the prosecution.
The JPs imposed a 12 month community order with 180 hours of unpaid work. He was banned from driving for 15 months and ordered to pay £180 in costs and surcharge.
