AFTER Ryan Williams followed Marcus McGuane through the door at Oxford United, fans have said where on the pitch the club needs to strengthen now.
We asked fans how many signings United need, and in which positions.
The results show a desire for wingers – something Karl Robinson has said himself – and a left back, with the imminent departure of Josh Ruffels.
Left back. Striker, a couple of wingers. Expect Forde, and Chambers-Parillion to sign new contracts.

While winger Williams is one new face who can play out wide, fans still think more players are needed in that position.

The return to parent clubs for loanees Brandon Barker, Elliot Lee and Mide Shodipo has left the U’s short on natural width.

2 Left backs
3 Wingers
Striker if Winnall doesn’t keep fit
The left back position was also a cause for concern for supporters, with many highlighting the exit of Ruffels, who is expected to sign for Huddersfield Town upon the expiry of his United contract on June 30.
The U’s have been linked with moves for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Alex Cochrane and Eastleigh’s Joe Tomlinson as replacements for Ruffels.
We defo need a new left back and possibly a new attacking midfield who can play on either wings, and maybe a RB if long gets injured

Supporters felt there was a need for a striker if Sam Winnall is unable to stay fit, with Blake Harmer saying a 30 goal a season striker is needed to work with Matty Taylor.

3 Wingers
And a striker if winnall can’t stay fit during per season
Central midfield and at right back were the other positions fans mentioned.
Darren Appleby said on Facebook: “We absolutely need another right back as cover, we need two left backs, and two more fast wingers who score goals and create chances. We also need a good striker.”
Paul Miles added: “If Ruffels isn’t going to put pen to paper, we need at least one full back and then probably a centre back if Atkinson departs.”
