A dangerous driver faces arrest – after he failed to turn up at court.

Tyrique Landers, 21, was due before Oxford Crown Court on Tuesday morning to be sentenced for a police chase that saw the Audi A3 driver lead officers from Morrell Avenue to Tawney Street, Oxford, on January 3.

Last month, Landers, of Stafford Avenue, Slough, had pleaded guilty at the magistrates’ court to dangerous driving, failing to stop for a constable, driving while disqualified and driving without insurance.

Judge Michael Gledhill QC heard that Landers’ solicitors had tried without success to contact their client.

Following an application from prosecutor Josh Happé, the judge issued a warrant for the driver’s arrest.
