AN author and an illustrator from Oxfordshire have both been shortlisted for an award.

Illustrator Allen Fatimaharan, from Woodstock, is in with the chance of winning the Waterstones Children's Book Prize 2021 in the Younger Reader category for the book Llama Out Loud.

Author Francesca Gibbons, from Burford, has also been nominated for her book A Clock of Stars: The Shadow Moth.

Ms Gibbons said: “The idea for A Clock of Stars has been with me since I was twelve, and having it shortlisted for the Waterstones Children’s Book Prize is a dream come true."

The winners will be announced on July 1.
