FIREFIGHTERS rescued a driver who became trapped in his HGV after being involved in a crash.

The collision involving two trucks, took place on Thursday on the A34 close to its junction with the M40 near Bicester.

Crews from Kidlington, and Rewley Road and Slade Park fire stations in Oxford attended the scene and used specialist equipment to release the trapped driver who suffered minor injuries.

Oxfordshire Fire Service watch manager Jason Clifford encouraged drivers to take care with the roads becoming busy again, and asked drivers to stay a safe distance from the vehicle in front.
