A STARK warning about litter has been issued by an Oxfordshire district council after dog poo bags started to pile up at a popular park.

Vale of White Horse District Council revealed that it had received a number of reports of dog owners walking their dogs in Folly Park, Faringdon, who are not picking up after their animals.

Even more, they became 'abusive' towards other people who asked them to pick up their litter.

The local authority said: "Not picking up after your dog has a poo in a public space carries a fine.

"It is also anti-social."

However, one Abingdon resident Donna Earl pointed out that dog fouling only carries a fine if owners are caught in the act.
