A PRISONER has been sentenced after he was found with an 'improvised weapon' in his cell.

Following a Thames Valley Police investigation, Robert Fuzi, 28, currently of HMP Bullingdon, was sentenced on Friday to one year and eight months' imprisonment to run consecutive to the time he is already serving.

He pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of an offensive weapon in prison.

On July 31 and August 4 last year Fuzi was found with an improvised weapon in his cell. The first had been made from a piece of plastic cutlery and the other from a toothbrush.

Fuzi was charged on October 26, 2020.

Investigating officer, PC Andrew Gold, based at Banbury police station, said: “Weapons in prison can have a significantly detrimental impact on the safe day to day running of prison establishments.

“They put Prison Officers, staff and other inmates at serious risk of harm.

“I hope this sentence passed reflects the severity of the offences and the position of the Crown Court on these matters.”
