BAKERY giant Warburtons is set to open a new distribution depot in Banbury.
The move to the Oxfordshire town comes as part of a £56 million investment programme within the business.

It will create 150 new jobs in the area and it is hoped the plans will help the business meet the growing demand for innovation in bakery, and strengthen its ability to get daily fresh products to stores across the country.

Warburtons is also investing in improving the environmental credentials of its fleet of almost 1,000 vehicles by introducing electric and compressed natural gas vehicles, and upgrading the technology used across the entire distribution network.

Warburtons, which was established in 1876, is headquartered in Bolton and has a network of 11 bakeries and 18 depots across the UK.
