A MAN stole money from a house while his accomplice distracted the home owner pretending there was a problem with the pipes.

At about 5.20pm on Friday, a man visited a property in Leys Road, Cumnor claiming there was a problem with the pipes.

While he engaged with the victim, another man entered the property through the back of the house.

Cash and documentation were stolen.

It is believed they left in a white derived van.

The offender is described as a white man, around 6ft 2ins tall, in his forties and of large build.

He was clean-shaven with short light brown hair and wearing dark clothing.

It is believed he spoke with an Irish accent.

Investigating officer, PC Joseph Canniffe, said: “I am appealing for anyone who may have witnessed this incident to please get in touch.
