PEOPLE can look at art in person for the first time in months as a Bicester exhibition is set to take place this week.

Held as part of Oxfordshire Artweeks, Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa will be hosting some of the town’s most talented artists.

More than 25 artists will display photography, painting, printmaking and sculptures with plenty of ‘affordable’ pieces to buy.

A share of all sales will go to Oxfordshire Youth Arts Partnership (OYAP) - Bicester’s local art charity based at Studio O2 at the Old St Edburg’s School.

Alongside established artisans such as landscape artist Karen Joy, printmaker Alexandra Buckle and sculptor Michele Greene from the Bicester Sculpture Group, will be local students from Cooper School who will also showcase their talents.

Graham Perriman, Bicester Art Network curator and business owner of Dragonfly Framing Ltd, said: “This is truly a one-off opportunity to see a rich and varied array of work with almost every type of art on display in one place.

“The artists and I are very excited to be hosting this exhibition and we hope to see a great number of art lovers visiting us at Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa from May 17 and we are so grateful for such a great venue for the event.”

Entry is free and everyone is welcome from 11am to 5pm from Monday to Sunday, May 24.

Oxfordshire Artweeks takes place each year in May where artists and designer-makers across the county exhibit their work in nearly 500 exhibitions ranging from group exhibitions in large public spaces to individual artists showing in their own homes or studios.

This year's festival includes 250 venues to visit as well as hundreds of virtual exhibitions and studio tours online.

The annual event also provides a chance for people to meet artists, to talk about their work and watch demonstrations.

It offers a wide variety of media; painting, photography, textiles, sculpture, ceramics, furniture, glass, mosaics, jewellery, and more.

For those looking for a sneak preview of the work that will be on display at Bicester Hotel Golf and Spa, many of the artworks are currently being shown online in an Artweeks virtual exhibition called Venue 64.

Artweeks is run by a board of voluntary directors, made up of artists and other professionals who donate their time and expertise, and is managed by a part-time executive director.
