TWO Oxfordshire residents are going up against each other in the hope of being crowned Miss England.
Current Miss Oxfordshire, 24-year-old Alex Evangelou, and Miss Cotswolds Rheanna Cartier, 17, are among 45 finalists taking part in the beauty pageant contest.
Oxford Brookes University student Miss Evangelou recently stood as an independent candidate in the Oxford City Council elections.
She has just finished her final exams in her second year studying social work.

Meanwhile, Rheanna, who lives in Kingham, near Chipping Norton, got to the finals by winning a wildcard round.
She is currently studying for a diploma in real estate.

The Miss England finals will take place in Coventry on June 24.
Voting starts at the end of May via the Miss England app.
The winner will go to the 70th Miss World in Puerto Rico.
