Police advise residents to get their bikes security marked at BikeRegister, as they see it as a highly effective, visible deterrent to thieves. Owners can be traced back, and anyone who is caught with a stolen registered bike could be arrested.
Top of the advice is to always double-lock and park in well-lit areas covered by CCTV.
