BROADCASTING legend, and former Oxford Mail reporter, Jim Rosenthal has taken on a radio breakfast show in his home county.

The sports broadcaster, from Oxford, has joined JACKfm’s brand-new Wake Up Call.

Mr Rosenthal has presented eight FIFA World Cups, two Olympic games and more than 150 Formula 1 races, but a breakfast show is new to him.

He has been joined by Trevor Marshall, and the duo will cover a range of topics, from sport and entertainment, to music and major events.

Mr Rosenthal said: “I was brought up in Oxford and started my career at the Oxford Mail, so it’s an honour to now be joining my talented co-host Trevor Marshall in helping to start the day for residents across the county.

“JACK’s Wake Up Call will deliver a mix of music, comedy, news and entertainment, without losing that local touch that our listeners have come to love.”

Mr Rosenthal will look to use his contacts in the industry to bring interviews with a range of famous faces.

In 2019, he took over the role as the main ‘voice’ of the JACK Radio portfolio, following the death of Paul Darrow.

Mr Marshall added: “I’m so excited to be joined by a co-host as talented and experienced as Jim.

“The JACK Radio Group has demonstrated time and again that it has the right formula to make really great radio, and JACK’s Wake Up Call is going to be a brilliant build on this previous success.”

JACK’s Wake Up Call can be heard every weekday from 7am to 9am.
