TRAINS were cancelled and delayed this morning after a person died at Radley station.

A spokesperson for British Transport Police said officers were called to the station at 7.32am this morning following reports of a casualty on the tracks.

Paramedics also attended however a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers are now working to identify the person and inform their family.

The spokesperson said the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Services were suspended on Great Western Railway trains between Oxford and Didcot Parkway, and CrossCountry trains between Oxford and Reading, but lines have now reopened.

Eyewitness Tony Stoyle reported seeing ‘a fire engine, at least six police cars and a private ambulance’.

Tickets are being accepted on Chiltern Railway services.

South Central Ambulance Service has also been contacted for a comment.
