EMERGENCY services closed off part of the M40 after a lorry burst into flames.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said its firefighters were called to the motorway at about 5am.
Teams from Rewley Road, Wheatley and Thame fire stations used hose reels to contain the fire which had already destroyed the whole cab of the lorry.
Police closed the hard shoulder and first and second lane so that drivers could still pass.
The team apologised for any delays caused.
The condition of the driver and details about how the fire was started is still not known.
