A WOMAN was punched in the leg in Bonn Square, just meters away from the Westgate Centre. 

It happened at around 3pm on Wednesday (April 28). 

The woman, in her 20s, was approached by a man before they had an altercation. He then punched her, leaving her with bruises to her left knee. 

She left the scene and didn't need any medical treatment. 

The man is described as white, in his 40s, around 5ft9in tall with a slim build.

He had light coloured hair and a brown curly beard. At the time he was wearing a grey hooded jumper, baggy dark trousers and a dark hat.

Investigating officer PC Edward Dodd, based at Abingdon police station said: “I am appealing for any witnesses of this incident, or anyone who saw a man matching the description in Bonn Square around the time of the offence to please get in touch.
