Fermanagh and Omagh District Council area recorded the second-highest number of positive Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the daily update from the Department of Health.

11 cases were recorded locally, with Derry City and Strabane the only other Council area with a higher figure (24). It brings the total here to 5,924.

The 11 were part of the 95 positive cases in Northern Ireland which brought the total number of cases to 120,087.

No deaths were recorded in Northern Ireland which means the death toll remains at 2,144 while in Fermanagh and Omagh it stays at 85.

The seven-day rate per 100,000 people in the district from April 22 to 28 stands at 51.4 compared to 39.4 for the previous seven days (April 15 to 21).

There were 60 positive cases in the last week. Out of those, 40 were aged 19 and under; 11 were between the ages of 20 and 39; six were between 40 and 59; two were aged between 60 and 79; one was aged 80 or over.

From April 19 to 25 postal districts in Fermanagh recorded two new cases. The BT93 area recorded no new cases; BT74 one; BT94 none, and BT92 one.

There are seven Covid patients in SWAH, with one Covid ICU patient in the hospital.

The bed occupancy in NI hospitals is at 100 per cent, according to Thursday's update, with the SWAH operating at 105.99 per cent of its bed capacity as of 9am on April 28.

As of April 29, there were four confirmed Covid-19 outbreaks in care homes across NI. Two of the separate outbreaks were asymptomatic whilst two were symptomatic.
