Oxford East MP Anneliese Dodds, who nominated the team, said: “The seamless linen service is entirely due to their combined commitment to excellence.
“When the Covid-19 emergency occurred they quickly adopted their own work streams to ensure uninterrupted safe services. As a result, the clinical teams did not run short of scrubs and uniforms. Their ‘can-do’ attitude is infectious. The supervisory and management team have the trust of their staff because they lead by example and this has to be recognised, rewarded and nurtured.”

A spokesperson said: “It is extremely rewarding for all those involved with the Children’s Air Ambulance to be recognised following everyone’s hard work given the challenging year everyone has faced. Despite a significant loss of charitable income, The Air Ambulance Service charity team have worked tirelessly so we can continue to provide and develop our lifesaving services free of charge to the NHS and our patients.”
The Children’s Air Ambulance was nominated by Air Ambulance operations manager Alfie Daly, who said: “The charity has lost approximately £2.2 million in income due to charity shops being closed and fundraising events unable to be held.
“Despite the challenge of Covid, the service has continued to improve and develop during extremely challenging times.
“Everyone has had the opportunity to work together to have an input in the decisions which have been made to ensure changes are safe, patient-centred and effective.”

A spokesperson said: “The Close is so excited to be recognised by our local community in not one but two amazing categories at the inaugural Oxfordshire Health & Social Care Awards. The residents, the team and all stakeholders at The Close are beyond thrilled to see this nomination especially during the most challenging year ever.”
The care home was nominated by managing director Sanjay Dhrona, who said: “From reception, housekeeping, laundry, activities, kitchen, admin, carers and nurses to managers, the whole team work together, with the residents at the core of the service.
“Our teamwork has been recognised by the regulator and industry and we would love to see this recognised by our local community too.
“It would mean so much to the residents, families and our stakeholders overall.”
