Encourage traders

With regard to the city council's proposal to increase the rents in the Covered Market, I would make the following points: 1. Apart from the Market, the city shops are dominated by the multiples which can be found in every city or town 2. Apart from the supermarkets, the only place in central Oxford where you can buy meat, fish and greengrocery is the Market 3. Apart from the food shops, all the other shops are facing increasing competition from buying on the Internet.
