A YEAR ago today temperatures hit 24 degrees celsius across Oxfordshire - whereas this morning the county woke up to a fresh layer of snow.

Yesterday, the Met Office predicted sunny spells with highs of 7C and lows of -1C.

But this morning many residents have been surprised with a blanket of snow.

This time last year, however, the country was experiencing the sunniest ever April on record, according to the Met Office.

On April 12, 2020, temperatures hit over 24C across the county, with a low of 4 degrees.

Spring 2020 was also the eighth warmest spring ever recorded by the Met Office, with every day of the Easter Bank holiday being over 22C.

But today, as pubs and restaurants reopen for outdoor reservations, pub-goers are going to have to wrap up warm in their winter gear.
