One of Oxford’s biggest charity shops, owned by homelessness charity Emmaus, is set to reopen its doors with a fresh look tomorrow.

More than half of the charity's income usually comes from the sale of donated items in the Emmaus store on Barns Road, Cowley.

But for every week closed during lockdown Emmaus Oxford has been losing valuable income that is used to provide accommodation, food, and support to help people rebuild their lives after being homeless.

During the shutdown period, the Oxford team sold items online, refurbished its shop, and prepared its retail space to ensure the safety of its customers.

Jaime Dodson, retail manager at Emmaus Oxford, said: “We are delighted to be reopening our store and welcoming back our supporters. Our store is a fantastic resource for anyone in need of quality affordable items, anyone wanting to embark on an upcycling project, or for people who want to shop responsibly, buy second-hand, and look after our environment."
