THERE have been no Covid-19 deaths in Oxfordshire in the past 24 hours, making it nearly a week since the last death was recorded in the county, the latest figures reveal.
However, according to the Government’s website, as of 4pm on Tuesday, there were 16 new cases recorded in the county – double from the day prior.
The last death recorded in Oxfordshire happened on March 30.

These were the numbers for the past 24 hours by local authority:
l Oxford – 5
l South Oxfordshire – 3
l West Oxfordshire – 2
l Vale of White Horse – 2
l Cherwell – 4
The total number of coronavirus cases since the pandemic started are:
l Oxford – 9,356
l Oxfordshire – 33,339
The UK has recorded a further 20 Covid-related deaths and 2,379 new cases, Public Health England confirmed.
This shows a decrease of 35.7 per cent in cases and 45.2 per cent in deaths compared to the previous week.
The health body is now including Pillar 2 tests – those carried out by commercial partners – alongside Pillar 1 tests, which are analysed in NHS or PHE laboratories and which made up the first stage of the Government’s mass testing programme.
Cumulative case counts include patients who are currently unwell, have recovered and those that have died.
The number of people who people who have received their first dose of a Covid-19 vaccine has reached 31.5 million, while nearly 5.5 million have been given their second doses.
