AN 'erection' to the rear of a house on Crotch Crescent which was refused will now be appealed.
Plans to erect a single-storey extension to house number 10 on the street off Marston Road were refused by Oxford City Council in January.
Planning chiefs had said the roof shape of the new extension would 'form an incongruous and unacceptable relationship with, and fail to respect the character and appearance of the original house'.
But now, an appeal has been made against this decision, and a Government planning inspector could get involved.
Crotch Crescent was once voted among the UK's funniest place names by comedian Chris Ramsey.
Ranked 10th, the street in Marston was named one of the funniest street names along with Bell End, near Lickey End in Worcestershire and Brown Willy in Cornwall.
