Lockdown heroes from delivery drivers and nurses to Joe Wicks, inspired children and colleagues from Julia Durbin Day Nursery in Headington to get dressed up as their role models.

At the day nursery pre-schoolers marked the anniversary of Covid with a series of activities, including role playing as doctors and shop keepers.

Hardworking colleagues as the day nursery were shown appreciation with a range of treats, including chocolates and a homemade cake from Deputy Manager, Aimee Corcoran as a thank you for their continued efforts and dedication.

Managers also made sure to spread the positivity with a socially distanced delivery to sister nursery Windmill Hill in Swindon, where they delivered treat baskets to the team to thank them for their support during the pandemic.

Julia Durbin Day Nursery Deputy Manager, Aimee Corcoran said: “We have had a fantastic time celebrating all the wonderful role models from over the past year and reflecting on how far we’ve come.

“This year has been unique to any other and we are hugely proud of our nursery families and colleagues for the way they’ve adapted to change and remained so positive throughout.”

The nursery used money from its ‘Charity Support Fund’, which is in place to help worthy causes, to donate money to Cancer Research UK and Duty to Care, a charity which supports the wellbeing of healthcare professionals.
