A MOTORCYCLIST from Oxfordshire has died after a serious crash on the M40. 

At around 5.40pm yesterday (March 10) a blue Volvo XC40 crashed with a Suzuki GSXR1000 motorbike on the northbound carriageway at Junction 1A.

A man, in his 40s, from Banbury was pronounced dead at the scene. 

His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specially trained officers.

The driver of the car a man in his fifties was uninjured.

Investigating officer PC Kate Bishop of the Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “Sadly a man has died following this collision and our thoughts remain with his family.

“We are investigating this collision and would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed it, and also would ask anyone with a dash camera to check their footage to see if it shows this collision or either vehicle driving on the M40 prior to the collision.

“We are also interested in speaking with the driver of an Audi that was directly behind the collision when it occurred.

“No personal details are taken, information is not traced or recorded and you will not go to court.”
