A HOTEL near Didcot is being used to quarantine international students arriving in the county.

From February 15, anyone entering the UK is required to quarantine for 10 days and take a Covid-19 test on day two and day eight.

As schools are set to open on March 8, students have begun making plans to restart their studies in the UK despite quarantine rules.

Pippa’s Guardians, a national company that is responsible for many international students in England, has now started a quarantine hotel at Milton Hill House for those students who will be based centrally in Oxford.

This will mean that children arriving in the UK can be supported whilst quarantining and ensure they have help making arrangements for the necessary Covid tests.

After completing the quarantine period, these students will be transferred from the hotel to their boarding schools to resume their studies.

Ceri Thomson, regional manager for Pippa’s Guardians, cares for students at boarding schools. She said: “Many of our students attend top UK boarding schools such as Bromsgrove School, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, Radley College and the Dragon School.

“Schools have been proactive in setting up online lessons and at home learning for students to ensure they don’t fall behind in their studies; however students are eager to get back in the classroom.”
