A SEAGULL had to be rescued after getting caught in the line from a kite.
The gull got trapped on Monday afternoon in Godstow Road, Wolvercote.
The RSPCA was called to the incident, and with the help of passers-by, the bird was freed.

Wolvercote resident Paul Valentin said: “The hapless bird was caught with the line around its wing high up between two trees.
“The otherwise innocent fun of flying a kite on Port Meadow had some unintended, but potentially lethal, consequences when blown into the trees.
“The rescuers were able to retrieve most of the line with the handle still attached.
“If you are out flying your kite, please make sure that the tackle doesn’t accidentally end up in nature where it can harm birds and animals.”
