A KARATE teacher has been jailed after historic sex attacks on two boys.

Paedophile Colin Stratton appeared in the dock of Oxford Crown Court yesterday wearing a striped polo top and grey jumper.

He had previously admitted nine counts of indecent assault and gross indecency between the years 1984 and 1992 on two boys - who cannot be named for legal reasons.

Yesterday, the 62-year-old listened as prosecutor Simon Foster said how the victim had been touched over his clothing in a layby by Stratton, of High Street, Swindon, on the way to karate classes in Shrivenham.

He had been a 'frightened' child at the time and was 'told not to tell his mother'.

In a statement read out to the court, the victim said: “Even when I have a flashback, it feels like I’m being abused all over again.”

Stratton has several previous convictions including indecent assault on a child in the karate changing rooms, being in possession of indecent images, rape and attempted rape of a child.

Defending Thomas Wilkins urged the judge to jail him for the ‘least amount of time possible’ because he is the ‘sole carer’ for his dying dad.

Judge Ian Pringle QC said: “To assault him you would pick him up to drive him to classes, which he enjoyed. What he didn’t enjoy was what you did to him on at least three occasions in your car.”

Stratton was jailed for 21 months.
