GOOD health, happiness and fortune is the wish of one Chinese restaurant this year.

Although traditional celebrations have not been able to take place due to the pandemic, Bicester's Chinese community has still waved in the Year of the Ox in style.

Chinese restaurant Grand Village Imperial (GVI) had to close just one week after opening in December due to lockdown, but it's looking forward to reopening to diners soon.

The team said: "What an emotional rollercoaster of a year 2020 has been for everyone. With the start of 2021, there is a real sense of hope, especially now, with news of the vaccine roll out.

"We hope businesses that have been hit by this pandemic will be able to prosper and we wish everyone good health, happiness and good fortune in 2021.

"The team at GVI cannot wait to welcome our customers back when it is safe to do so, and we are incredibly grateful for their amazing support and encouragement during this time. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts."

The restaurant is open for takeaway.
