LIDL has earmarked 15 new locations in Oxfordshire where it wants to build a store.

The supermarket giant says it plans to ‘double its portfolio’ which already boasts more than 800 sites across the UK.

Its requirements for a site include:

  • Units on a main road with easy access and strong footfall or traffic flow
  • Freehold, leasehold or long leasehold opportunities
  • Unit sizes between 14,000 and 26,500 sq ft
  • 1.5 acres for a shop or four acres for joint developments with other businesses

Lidl already have a branch in: 

  • Watlington Road, Cowley 
  • New Close Lane, Witney 
  • Launton Road, Bicester 
  • Lupton Road, Wallingford

  • Abingdon
  • Banbury north
  • Banbury South
  • Bicester
  • Didcot
  • Faringdon
  • Henley-on-Thames
  • Oxford – Botley
  • Oxford – city centre
  • Oxford – Cowley
  • Oxford – Headington
  • Oxford – Marston
  • Oxford – Summertown
  • Thame
  • Wantage
