AN INNOVATIVE illustrator from Abingdon has published a 6.5-foot-long children's story book about a very long sausage dog.

Rob Jones's new book ‘Where’s Brian’s Bottom’ was published by Pavilion Children’s books and released at the beginning of February.

Aimed at 'young, curious children', the 'board book' unfolds to a 6.5-foot tale that tells the story of Brian the sausage dog.

Mr Jones said he first discovered his passion for making books, toys and puppets while studying illustration at The University of Gloucestershire, from which he graduated in 2011.

Since then, he has illustrated a number of children’s tales.

His first book, Bernard, won the People’s Book Prize in 2014.

The illustrator still enjoys making puppets when he can, and has made a number of them for The Story Museum’s annual Christmas production in Oxford.

One reviewer of ‘Where’s Brian’s Bottom’ said: “A delightful, colourful board book.

“Very young children will love this, and older children will have fun laying out Brian and measuring themselves alongside his very long body.”
