BULLINGDON Prison said after a 'difficult couple of weeks', fewer prisoners and staff are testing positive for coronavirus every day.

Writing on Twitter, the Bicester prison said outside exercise and face-to-face sessions for the prisoners had restarted.

It explained: "To help keep it this way, staff Lateral Flow testing started last week and prisoners still being swabbed on reception."

A month ago bosses at the Category B and C prison said that staff and prisoners had come down with Covid-19 and extra staff from the probation service had been recruited to 'maintain a basic, safe and decent regime'.
