36 FLOOD alerts and warnings have been issued across Oxfordshire today.

Residents have been urged to take 'immediate action' to protect their property and family from rapidly-rising floods in Oxfordshire.

It comes after residents across the county woke up to flooding for the third time this year last week. 

The Environment Agency has now issued 9 serious flood warnings for the county, meaning flooding is expected.

Those warnings have been issued for: 

  • River Thame at Dorchester
  • River Thames and tributaries at New Botley, New and North Hinksey and Grandpont in Oxford
  • River Thames and tributaries at Sandford and Radley near Oxford
  • River Thames and tributaries at Wolvercote in Oxford
  • River Thames at Purley Village
  • River Thames between Newbridge and Kings Lock above Oxford
  • River Thames for Henley, Remenham, and Medmenham
  • River Thames for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave
  • River Windrush at Witney and Ducklington

Another 26 flood alerts are also in place, meaning flooding is possible. They are for: 

  • Ginge Brook
  • Groundwater flooding in the Lambourn Valley catchment
  • Groundwater flooding in the Upper Og Valley
  • Lower River Loddon
  • Lower River Loddon at the River Thames confluence at Twyford
  • River Cherwell from Lower Heyford down to and including Oxford
  • River Coln and its tributaries
  • River Evenlode from Moreton in Marsh to Cassington and also the River Glyme at Wootton and Woodstock
  • River Kennet and its tributaries from Berwick Bassett down to Newbury
  • River Leach from Northleach to Mill Lane near Lechlade
  • River Ock from Watchfield to Abingdon, and also the Letcombe Brook at Wantage, Grove and East Hanney
  • River Pang from East Ilsley to Pangbourne and Sulham Brook
  • River Ray and its tributaries from Shipton Lee to and including Islip
  • River Thame and Chalgrove Brook
  • River Thames and its small tributaries from Calcutt to Lechlade
  • River Thames and its tributaries from Days Lock to above Pangbourne
  • River Thames and tributaries from Buscot Wick down to Kings Lock
  • River Thames and tributaries in the Oxford area
  • River Thames for Henley, Remenham, Medmenham and its tributaries
  • River Thames for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave
  • River Thames for the Abingdon area
  • River Thames from Mapledurham to Sonning
  • River Thames from Pangbourne to Purley
  • River Tove in Northamptonshire
  • River Windrush from Bourton to Newbridge
  • Upper River Great Ouse in Northamptonshire, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire

One flood warning for the River Thames from Days Lock down to South Stoke has also been removed in the last 24 hours.
