OXFORD is the 'safest university city in the UK', a new survey has concluded.
The research by confused.com found Oxford residents felt the safest out of all major cities across the country.
Sixty-one per cent of people said they felt 'very' safe and secure.

Thirty-five per cent said they felt 'somewhat' safe and secure.
Factors that were also considered in the survey included low crime rates, the number of street lights, how physically clean streets were and how many neighbourhood watch areas there were.
Oxford was closely followed by Aberdeen, Glasgow, Norwich and Aberystwyth.
The least safe towns in the UK included Portsmouth, Brighton and Hove, Newcastle and Swansea.
