Pupils on an Oxford estate have been strutting their stuff to raise funds for a children's cancer charity.

Since June, primary pupils at 23 schools, including Pegasus Primary and Orchard Meadow Primary, have been taught salsa by George Martini.

Now they have linked up with Clic Sargent Cancer Care to raise money at a special dance event in March.

Emily Leaver, a spokesman for Clic Sergeant, said: "We are working with George Martini and his Salsa Kids in Schools Project to promote our national event, Practice-a-thon Dance.

"The event is suitable for all ages and abilities and runs until June, 2008.

"Dancers are sponsored to practise for a set time each day and Clic Sargent will send them everything they need.

"With 75 per cent of the money raised going to help children with cancer and their families, and 25 per cent to invest back into the dance school - everyone's a winner."
