POLICE issued six traffic offence reports to motorists speeding on the M40 in Oxfordshire.

Officers conducted an unmarked patrol of the motorway where it rained continually today.

In a tweet by Thames Valley Roads Policing, officers said there was 'lots of standing water and spray leading to reduced visibility', as Storm Christoph battered the county.

Six drivers were stopped and reported for excess speed, with one reaching a speed of 105mph.

The police urge people to 'drive to the conditions and slow down'.
