Filming for series eight of Inspector Morse spin-off Endeavour - which could be the last - will take place this year.
ITV bosses have confirmed plans for series eight of the the popular detective drama starring Shaun Evans as a young Morse to hit TV screens in 2021.
It is possible that the latest episodes could be the last although this has not yet been confirmed.
Endeavour follows the Inspector Morse and Lewis TV dramas and started in 2012.

Head of ITV programme publicity Janice Troup said: “We are filming another series this year and as previously we will be filming in Oxford.
“We’ve commissioned three new films.
“If all goes according to plan with filming, it is anticipated that the series will air later this year.”
One Endeavour fan who is watching closely to see when film crews will be returning is Julia Atkinson, who runs Happy Cakes bakery business.
For years she and her colleagues have been welcomed on set as she likes to offer them cakes to make them welcome during their stay in Oxford.
She said a tweet from UK Casting News suggested filming could take place in the city in March.

For series two, Ms Atkinson started creating a Great British Bake Off-style showstopper as a gift for the cast and crew when they finished filming.
Her themed cakes have included a crime scene with a dagger and handcuffs, topped by icing models of Shaun Evans and Roger Allam, who plays Di Fred Thursday.
The series six cake was decorated with moustaches to reflect the – endlessly discussed – ‘Morse-tache’ grown by Evans. The cake for series seven was a replica of the script, which had the city’s Bridge of Sighs on the front and next, she thinks, will be a blood-red velvet cake.

Explaining Endeavour’s appeal, Ms Atkinson said earlier: ‘It’s like doing a really complicated crossword.
“All the clues are there, you just have to understand how the setter’s mind works.”
One hint that season eight will be the last is the number of episodes Endeavour has run to this point.
The original Inspector Morse ran for 33 episodes, and Lewis ran for 33 episodes.

It has been suggested that, out of respect for the original, none of the spin-offs would go beyond that total. So far there have been 30 episodes including the pilot, so the next three episodes would make that a total of 33.
