A MAN who spat in the face of a police officer has been jailed.
Neil Jordan Brake, of Patrick Haugh Road, in Upper Arncott, Oxfordshire, spat into the face of the officer after being warned by the police Sargent on January 6 this year.
The court heard how the 23-year-old carried out a "disgusting offence" and that crimes of this manner would "not be tolerated".
Appearing at Southampton Magistrates' Court, he pleaded guilty to one count of assaulting an emergency working by beating.
Brake was committed to prison for 18 weeks and ordered to pay £100 compensation.
