Thames Valley Police is appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Oxford.

At 11pm on Monday the victim, a 28-year-old man, was walking through Sandy Lane Park near to the junction of Balfour Road when he was hit from behind and repeatedly kicked whilst on the floor by a group of five unknown men.

The victim’s mobile phone was stolen, and he sustained bruising to his body and head, but did not require hospital treatment.

One of the offenders is described as a white man, around 6ft tall with short dark hair and in his early twenties and he was wearing a coloured jacket and jeans.

Witnesses are urged to contact police using their online form or by calling 101, quoting reference number 43210014558.
