A SEAGULL has been spotted in Oxfordshire with what appears to be a spatula stuck on its foot.
The picture was taken by amateur wildlife photographer Diane Mullenger, from Witney, who was out walking and taking snaps of the birdlife at Chimney Meadows National Nature Reserve, near Bampton, on Sunday.

She said: “I thought it was a gull with some prey, but on looking closer he had a plastic spatula wedged on his webbed foot. This was so sad to see.
“He may well have been scavenging on a tip perhaps, but in any event it is sad and a reminder of all the litter which is lying about.”
Chimney Meadows is Berks, Bucks & Oxon Wildlife Trust’s largest nature reserve in the county.
