A CAR that was found flooded in a car park has finally been 'rescued'.

The car, located at Rye Farm Car Park in Abingdon, was a victim of the Boxing Day floods that badly affected much of the county.

The vehicle has now been removed from the car park, with one person saying it was rescued by the owner's father.

Another Facebook user said that the abandoned vehicle had become the 'most photographed car in Abingdon', adding that they 'felt sorry for the owner'.

Torrential rain across Oxfordshire brought a wet Christmas to many people, with emergency services dispatched to a number of flooded households.

Abingdon was badly affected by the flood waters as shown in this drone footage.

Oxford towpaths have also continued to flood, and people are being urged to not walk near them.

The edge of the paths in the city are completely obscured with cross currents and strong flow rates.
