OXFORD MAGISTRATES' COURT

NICHOLAS MASON, 57, of Gessey Close, Long Hanborough, was convicted of speeding on the A40 on February 2. He was fined £440, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £44 and court costs of £85. His driving licence has als been endorsed with four penalty points.

LIAM ALDERSON, 35, of Ivy Lane, Oxford, was convicted of failing to attend custody after being released on bail on May 16 and breaching a restraining order between April 12 and April 21 at Stowford Road, Oxford by contacting the victim directly and indirectly by social media. He was made subject to a community order and must attend rehabilitation appointments for 15 days. He must also pay compensation of £100, a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £450.

Editor’s note: On June 18, 2021, Mr Alderson successfully appealed against his conviction for breaching a restraining order and  the conviction was quashed. He also appealed against the sentence on conviction for failure to surrender to custody, which was reduced to a fine of £120 and a victim surcharge of £32.

CRAIG ASH, 46, of Sandhill, Shrivenham, admitted drink-driving on February 6 on High Street, Shrivenham. He had 43mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg. He was fined £400, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £40 and court costs of £85. He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.

FRED KERINS, 56, of Reade Avenue, Abingdon, admitted assault by beating a woman on April 6. He was fined £150, ordered to pay compensation of £100, court costs of £100 and a victim surcharge of £32.

THOMAS COWLISHAW, 23, of Barton Road, Oxford, admitted drink-driving on July 25 on the A418 between Junction 8A services and Thame. He had 109mcg of alcohol per 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 80mcg. He was fined £184, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85. He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.

STEPHEN HAMMOND, 49, of South Avenue, Abingdon, admitted harassment without violence on July 24 and July 21 at Northcourt Road, Abingdon. He was made subject to a community order and must attend appointments with a rehabilitation officer for 15 days. He has also been made subject to a restraining order and must not contact the victim directly or indirectly until a further order is made. He will pay a victim surcharge of £95 and court costs of £85.

DARRELL WILLIAMS, 30, of Church Close, Weston-on-the-Green, admitted drug-driving on April 8 at Lakeview Drive, Bicester. He had 10mcg of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (cannabis) per 100ml of blood, above the legal limit of 2mcg. He was fined £300, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £85. He was also disqualified from driving for 12 months.

ANN MARION MOYNIHAN, 59, of Cotmore Gardens, Thame, admitted drink-driving on June 14 on Park Street in Thame. She had 83mcg of alcohol per 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35mcg. She was fined £94, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85. She was also disqualified from driving for 17 months.

DAVID SEAGER, 46, of Gassons Mead, Alvescot, admitted stealing bottles of wine to the value of £40 from the Midcounties Co-operative in Carterton on August 23. He also admitted stealing bottles of wine and fish, costing £134, from the same shop on August 23 and bottles of wine costing £40 from the shop on August 25. He was made to pay £75 in compensation and £85 in court costs.

GEORGE NEWMAN, 25, of John Jones Close, Abingdon, admitted assault by beating a woman in Faringdon on June 7. He has been made subject of a community order and must carry out 60 hours of unpaid work in the next 12 months. He has also been made the subject of a restraining order and must not contact the victim directly or indirectly including on social media, go to their address of visit somewhere he knows they are. He must also pay £200 in compensation, a £96 victim surcharge fee and £700 in court costs.

MEGAN DOROTHY WINNIE STOKER, 25, of Liddell Road, Cowley, was convicted of assault by beating a woman and criminal damage to a door lock, costing £30, on December 4, 2019 in Oxford. She was made subject to a restraining order and must not contact the victim directly or indirectly. She was also fined £110, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £32 and court costs of £310.

MICHAL FORNALCZYK, 33, of Botley Road, Oxford, admitted damaging the glass front door of The Youth Hostel on Botley Road, on November 10. He was fined £90, ordered to pay compensation of £150, a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £85.

BRANDON MCELVAINE, 29, of Freemans Road, Bodicote, admitted assault by beating a police detention officer on March 7 in Banbury. He was made subject to a electronic monitoring for eight weeks with a curfew. He has also been ordered to pay £125 in compensation.

COLE WALKER, 26, of Stenta Lane, Witney, admitted failing without reasonable excuse to attend unpaid work sessions on September 3 and August 27. His community order made by Oxford Magistrates' Court on August 27 was revoked and he was sentenced for the original offences of carrying a kitchen knife on Eastfield Road without good reason on July 16. He was made subject of a community order and must attend rehabilitation appointments with an officer for 25 days.

WILLIAM BRIAN JAMES PARK, 23, of Morrell Close, Kidlington, admitted being in possession of cocaine, a class A drug, on May 26 and being in possession of cannabis, a Class B drug, on May 26. He was fined £75 and ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34. He was also disqualified from driving for three months.

TIBOR MECS, 50, of HMP Huntercombe, admitted breaching a restraining order by sending a letter between August 1 and August 3 that he was prohibited from sending. He was sent to prison for three months because of his 'fragrant disregard' for court orders and because the offence was committed two months after the 'imposition of the restraining order'.

DANIEL JOHN CARTER, 34, of Kirtlington Road, Chesterton, admitted driving at 38mph in a 30mph zone on the A4007 Slough Road on July 12. He was fined £100, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £90. His driving licence was endorsed with three penalty points.

CARL ANDREW CONSTABLE, 42, of Osprey Close, Bicester, admitted driving at 35mph in a 30mph zone on the A4144 Woodstock Road. He was fined £149, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £34 and court costs of £90. His driving licence was also endorsed with three penalty points.

DAVID HUTT, of Letcombe Hill, Wantage, was convicted of failing to give information about the identity of a driver between July 17 and August 14. He was fined £660, ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £66 and court costs of £90. His driving licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
