A MAN accused of importing hundreds of grammes of cannabis oil is set to appear at court.

The 25-year-old of London Road, Headington, Oxford, is charged with one count of importing a controlled drug of Class B with intent to evade a prohibition or restriction.

Prosecutors claim that Tanudjojo was knowingly concerned in dealing with 280g Cannabis oil, a Class B drug, with respect to its importation.

The offence is alleged to have taken place while in Oxford on November 12 this year.

As the alleged offence is an 'either-way' matter it can either be heard before magistrates or at the upper court - Oxford Crown Court.

Upon conviction magistrates have the power to sentence Tanudjojo to a maximum of six months in prison or order a financial penalty of up to £20,000, or three times the value of the goods if this is a greater figure.

Tanudjojo is yet to enter any pleas to the single count that he faces and he is expected to appear at the lower court this morning.

Depending on any plea magistrates can decide to hear the case at Oxford Magistrates' Court or send the matter to Oxford Crown Court for determination.
